Four Years

Well Happy Anniversary to McClendon and I, four years today. I was looking through some of our old pictures thinking that we have had some really good times. I really don't want to be to cheesy, but I would really like to get my feelings out about this guy I am married to.

Well a thought came to mind today when reflecting on our years together. I am so Grateful for all the "boyfriends" I had in high school, for my wild teenage years and for all my terribly hard breakups I had in my younger days. Without these three things I would not have been ready for the best friend I have ever had. I knew when I went on my first date with Grant, two things: I knew I was totally into him and that he would be important in my life. I didn't know the day that I met him in the grocery store that I would marry him or on our first date but as we became friends I knew that I loved him and that I could never be without him again. I was really horrible to Grant when we first started dating but he stuck around through all my nonsense. Thank heavens. Anyway we met the parents and family which I was so nervous about knowing that Grant had five sisters! Yikes. So a total of six girls to convince that I was the one for Grant, so nervous but I remember the day well and I fell in love with my soon to be in-laws and their little families. Grant knew he was in for some trouble meeting my family, just kidding he loved them all and then......

We almost broke up right before we were engaged over Christmas break, we were arguing about engagement rings, long story but I am sure you can imagine (if you don't know the story) why we would be arguing about Rings....HELLO I was raised by Dana (my Dad) who taught me how to say when I was little "The bigger the diamond the better the marriage." haha I was thinking I needed a ring pop size ring! :) Anyway we worked it out obviously but that was a hard time, we were on the phone talking back and forth and we hung up the phone mad thinking we couldn't work it out and It didn't even take a minute for me to get back on that phone and tell McClendon that I did not care what ring I had even it were a string that I just wanted to marry him!!!!! I knew I had fallen head over heels for that guy at that moment!!!! haha but totally serious. :)

Anyway we were engaged (can't tell the story way too long and wild.) Then we were married after 10 months of dating. So of course we have had some bumps along the road but nothing we can't handle. I loved Grant on August 25, 2007 when we were sealed (together forever) and I love him now more then I thought I could ever love someone. Yes I have turned this into a total country song but it is true. It just gets better and deeper after time, so I will be just bursting with love in the years ahead. :) I have a lot of love to give!

Now we have baby McClendon, she rocks our world and she is a perfect mix of us. Sour Patch style. We are PARENTS GRANTLY, you and I. How amazing is that? We are so blessed, I am so blessed not enough words. Husband, you know all my secrets, all of my bad and crazy side, how I look without my makeup and hair did, you know what I am thinking, you know what makes me mad, what makes me happy and sad, you know my dreams, you know the real me and you know that I love, love, love you. Happy Anniversary.

Here is a Trip down memory lane.........brace yourself this is a long one!

So about solids

Claire wont let me feed her, she has decided she is way too big to have me do the cute thing and feed her while entertaining her with airplane noises and distraction songs. So she feeds herself, real cool. What a little independent chick....is this foreshadowing anything?

she looks like grant here

morning breakfast

aslo she straight up took my dads donut and started going to
town on it before we could even react.

Total success, I bet sweet potatoes and powered donuts are a great mix.

welcome to the norm at our house.

So this is a glimpse of Claire this last month while hanging out with my brothers....

Hot guy in a little coat......

Grant and I have written the checks (student loans), he went to school, we moved and we are livin the Dream. We made an official start with attending an "initiation" into Dental School, a White Coat Ceremony. It was awesome, it made me less anxious about the whole school thing! I am so excited for Grant and he is totally happy, all smiles yesterday when it all happened. I felt as if some weight had lifted off my shoulders and I could see the big picture with Grant in a white coat and it reminded me of our reasons why we made the decision about 2 years ago to go the dental route. So here we go! Congrats Husband we have made it this far. Here is us yesterday.

"Hello, my name is Grant McClendon and I'm from Montrose, Colorado."
