Four Years

Well Happy Anniversary to McClendon and I, four years today. I was looking through some of our old pictures thinking that we have had some really good times. I really don't want to be to cheesy, but I would really like to get my feelings out about this guy I am married to.

Well a thought came to mind today when reflecting on our years together. I am so Grateful for all the "boyfriends" I had in high school, for my wild teenage years and for all my terribly hard breakups I had in my younger days. Without these three things I would not have been ready for the best friend I have ever had. I knew when I went on my first date with Grant, two things: I knew I was totally into him and that he would be important in my life. I didn't know the day that I met him in the grocery store that I would marry him or on our first date but as we became friends I knew that I loved him and that I could never be without him again. I was really horrible to Grant when we first started dating but he stuck around through all my nonsense. Thank heavens. Anyway we met the parents and family which I was so nervous about knowing that Grant had five sisters! Yikes. So a total of six girls to convince that I was the one for Grant, so nervous but I remember the day well and I fell in love with my soon to be in-laws and their little families. Grant knew he was in for some trouble meeting my family, just kidding he loved them all and then......

We almost broke up right before we were engaged over Christmas break, we were arguing about engagement rings, long story but I am sure you can imagine (if you don't know the story) why we would be arguing about Rings....HELLO I was raised by Dana (my Dad) who taught me how to say when I was little "The bigger the diamond the better the marriage." haha I was thinking I needed a ring pop size ring! :) Anyway we worked it out obviously but that was a hard time, we were on the phone talking back and forth and we hung up the phone mad thinking we couldn't work it out and It didn't even take a minute for me to get back on that phone and tell McClendon that I did not care what ring I had even it were a string that I just wanted to marry him!!!!! I knew I had fallen head over heels for that guy at that moment!!!! haha but totally serious. :)

Anyway we were engaged (can't tell the story way too long and wild.) Then we were married after 10 months of dating. So of course we have had some bumps along the road but nothing we can't handle. I loved Grant on August 25, 2007 when we were sealed (together forever) and I love him now more then I thought I could ever love someone. Yes I have turned this into a total country song but it is true. It just gets better and deeper after time, so I will be just bursting with love in the years ahead. :) I have a lot of love to give!

Now we have baby McClendon, she rocks our world and she is a perfect mix of us. Sour Patch style. We are PARENTS GRANTLY, you and I. How amazing is that? We are so blessed, I am so blessed not enough words. Husband, you know all my secrets, all of my bad and crazy side, how I look without my makeup and hair did, you know what I am thinking, you know what makes me mad, what makes me happy and sad, you know my dreams, you know the real me and you know that I love, love, love you. Happy Anniversary.

Here is a Trip down memory lane.........brace yourself this is a long one!

one day I plan to sing to Grant on an anniversary when I become brave enough to do a solo act infront of a crowd to my new favorite version of this song best song ever. I could never sing this song before it was more of a man to woman song, but one day Grantly. It will be a treat. Anyway hope you have enjoyed this, you don't get this cheesy stuff from me everyday!

  1. Happy Anniversary you guys!!! We are so glad you two hooked up:)!!! I didn't know you guys almost broke up!!?? Ryan and I almost did too (well, we probably would have gotten back together even if we had)right before he proposed. Crazy! I love that you want to sing to Grant also! I could never do that!:) I just let him sing to me:) and it is really funny that you chose that song because he DID sing it to me when we were dating and "I hadn't made my mind up yet"... it quickly became "our" song needless to say. It was while he was singing that song that we first held hands...ahh...now you are making me get all gushy!! So happy for you guys!! You are so sweet to let him know how much you adore him!! May this next year be just as wonderful as your last 4!
